The delayed detached eddy simulation (DDES) coupled with the acoustic finite element method (FEM) is applied to analyze aerodynamic noise characteristics of a high-speed train with a pantograph. Numerical results are presented in terms of spectrum characteristics and distributions of aerodynamic noise in near and far fields in the case of pantograph with demo in up and down situations. The influence of different modeling methods on the flow field of the pantograph is considered, and the effects of scattering and reflection of sound waves from the body and shroud panels on aerodynamic noise results are also took into account. The following interesting phenomena are drawn. 1) Under the pantograph shape and selected opening direction, the noise induced by downpantograph with dome is higher than that induced by up-pantograph with dome. 2) The noise induced by the dome has a large proportion of noise in the low frequency region below 300 Hz, while the noise induced by the pantograph has a greater influence after 300 Hz. Using the dome as the sound source face, the noise is larger in the case of up-pantograph. 3) About the directivity of the induced noise, in the horizontal plane, the front of the pantograph, the dome contributes more to the noise, and in the rear of the pantograph, the pantograph contributes more. In the upper part of the train, the noise induced by the pantograph itself is greater than the noise induced by the dome, becoming the main source of aerodynamic noise in this case.

Utilizing land cover change (LCC) information together with monthly average air temperature record of 295 meteorological stations densely-scattered in eastern China, sensitivity of regional air temperature of meteorological stations to LCC is explored from 1979 to 2010. Results reveal that area of grassland decreases dramatically with that of urban skyrocketing as well as obvious enlargement in forest area. The annual temperature trend ranges from -0.2 to 0.9℃/10a, averaged 0.38℃/10a, which differs among stations characterized by various land covers, indicating a decreasing trend from urban to cropland to grassland to forest to water. The impact of LCC on air temperature is collaboratively driven by land covers around stations. Though it is not exactly the only causative factor of regional warming, LCC does affect temperature variation profoundly.

As a kind of new biosorbent, aerobic granular sludge which has the advantages of strong adsorption capacity and easily-desorbing property, was paid great attention in the area of heavy metal waste water treatment. In this research, the adsorption behaviors of Pb2+ and Cd2+ by extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) which extracted from aerobic granular sludge using improved centrifugation methods were studied. The results showed that the adsorption capacity of Pb2+ and Cd2+ on EPS was considerably large. The experimental results were fit well with the Langmuir iostherms model. The maximum adsorption capacity for Pb2+ and Cd2+ by EPS was up to 534.76 mg/g and 478.47 mg/g, respectively. Furthermore, the competitive adsorption experiments presented that EPS exhibited a selective adsorption for Pb2+. Specially, there was a minor inhibition for Pb2+ adsorption in presences of Cd2+, while the adsorption capacity of Cd2+ was greatly decreased when Pb2+ co-existed in solutions. FT-IR and EEM analysis revealed that EPS was rich in hydrophilic groups and hydrophobic groups, which was benefit to combine heavy metals by complexation, ions exchange and chelation. The adsorption of Pb2+ and Cd2+ by EPS was mainly attributed to the ?COOH, ?NH2, ?CH, ?OH and ?C=O groups from protein fractions of them. The main adsorption mechanism of Pb2+ by EPS was ion exchange and complexation, while for Cd2+ was mainly took effect by complexation.

For the inhomogeneous magnetic field MR imager, the polarization field is virtually uniform within horizontal degrees of freedom and decreases monotonically in a direction away from the surface. The authors describe the imaging principle, and present requirements and constraints by terms of key points of physical design such as 90° excitation pulse,180° refocused pulse, encoding manner and pulse sequences. In addition, it reveals that the echo time is restricted by the diffusion effect on signal amplitude due to the huge static field gradient. The data evaluated from diffusion not only restrict the usable TE, but also determine the strength of encoding gradient Gx, Gz and RF excitation field B1 and virtually usable RF pulse. The time spent for scanning one slice of human brain and inability of covering whole brain prohibit such MR imager from surgical intervention. It indicates that the advantage of the unilateral MR imager is portable. It can be used for arbitrary large sample to render MRI analysis of surface-layer in a non-invasive manner.

To predict the distribution of the favorable volcanic facies belts of Yingcheng Group in Xujiaweizi Depression, it's necessary to analyze the factors to control the reservoir capabilities of the volcanic rocks. Observation of cores and thin sections indicates that primary pores are the basic reservoir space of the volcanic rocks, while secondary pores have important influence. Through statistics of the pore types and comparison of the physical properties of the volcanic rocks, the authors find that the control factors of the volcanic reservoir capabilities are lithofacies, fractures, and dissolution by the acidic fluid. The formations that have been dissoluted under the unconformities on top of the volcanic edifices near the main faults will be the most important exploration targets.

The simulating experiment constructed a series of "wetland buckets" containing soil polluted by petroleum and some wetland plants from the Yellow River Delta. Through monitoring the growth of wetland plants (mainly common reed and cattails) and assaying O/G and TPH in soils according to timelapse, the function of wetland degrading oil pollution was validated. The petroleum pollutants in the surface layer of soil were decreased by eluviations and degradation. For some wetland plants such as reed and cattail, a small quantity of petroleum pollutants did not form deadly menace, their growing tallness was positive correlated with water deepness. Therefore, wetland buffer can be constructed to reduce the impact of petroleum pollution and plant adaptive wetland vegetation so as to improve the environment of oil field.

Abstract730)            Save
The data of n-alkane of lacustrine sediments in west of Sichuan prove the connection between the value of δ(13C) of C17-C22 n-alkane and the altitudes. The δ(13C) values of C17-C22 n-alkane increase along with the elevated altitude. According to the δ(13C) data, The relationship results from three key associated factors: partial pressure mospheric carbon dioxide p(CO2), temperature and precipitation. The results also support the opinion that the δ(13C) value of C26-C33 n-alkane decrease along with the elevated altitude. Thus, comparing two aspects (n-alkane of longer and shorter train) mentioned above, it could be better to estimate the change of the altitude and the environment during the past time.

Abstract705)            Save
Using data gathered by Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Satellite in 2000 during the period of Huaihe River Basin Energy and Water Cycle Experiment (HUBEX), a new precipitable cloud model is established. To validate this model, a vector radiative transfer model is used to simulate the upwelling microwave radiation sensed by TRMM Microwave Imager (TMI). The contribution of each component in this cloud model to the total upwelling brightness temperature is discussed. It is concluded that the new precipitable cloud model is reliable and can fit the requirement for further study in relative areas; also it is pointed out that the influence of icy hydrometeors to the upwelling radiation is severe and needs further study.

Abstract645)            Save
The electronic structure and chemical bonding of Eu2S and EuS2 have been studied by means of the density functional theory. It is shown that the Eu-S bonding mainly comes from the interaction between Eu 5d and S 3p orbitals in both molecules. The 4f orbitals are localized in essence. The contribution of the Eu atomic orbitals to the Eu-S bonding follows the order: 5d>6p>6s>4f. The characteristics of the electronic structure show that the valence of Eu is 2 both in Eu2S and EuS2, which shows that the 4f orbitals can not become the signifacant component of the bonding molecular orbitals. The covalency of the Eu-S bond is 68% in Eu2S and 57% in EuS2.

Abstract1143)            Save
The development of density functional theory and its applications made it necessary to improve the relevant calculation accuracy. Based on analysis of the factors influencing the calculation errors and adopting suitable techniques to treat them, a scheme and the correspondent program for solving Kohn-Sham equation have been presented. With this program, the accuracy of the calculated total energy can posses 8 digitals with reasonable computation efforts. This accuracy is higher than that of the usual DVM results for 2 to 3 level, and can satisfy the requirement of up to date general quantum chemistry researches. In this paper, the scheme and program will be described in some detail.
